I am back home today (it was a little questionable whether our plane would ever actually leave New Jersey last night so that’s actually a big deal). I am not quite ready to give the full BEA recap yet (most likely this weekend), but I thought I would throw out a teaser with one highlight (so hard to choose!) from each day I was gone.
Wednesday: Getting there safely (nervous flyer here)
Thursday: Author Breakfast with Jon Stewart
Friday: Hanging out with awesome book bloggers all day
Saturday: Books of Wonder bookstore
Sunday: Seeing Neil Patrick Harris filming The Smurfs
Monday: Lunch with one of my oldest friends in Central Park
But the highlight of the whole trip was getting to spend some quality time with Emily from Books, the Universe and Everything. I don’t think I could have had a better first-time-in-NYC trip and that is all thanks to her.
It was great to meet you and Ben (and Emily)!
Okay, so what IS Books of Wonder? And is this someplace I need to go when I go back to NYC? (Next year, I’m staying longer and I’ve already recruited at least three friends to come with.)

Books of Wonder is a children’s bookstore. And yes, you must go there the next time you are in NYC.

What is this 🙂 We were expecting a novel and you have given us a short story 🙂 But it has now made us look forward to your longer recap. Hoping to read about your experiences in NYC (Did you go to the Strand? How was it? What did you buy there?), and at the BEA.

I did get to the Strand. It was kind of amazing. I’ll have to get back to you on what I bought there – still organizing the mass influx of books in my apartment.

Glad to know that you liked the Strand! Looking forward to hearing about your adventures there (Did Emily take you to the most tempting section of her favourite bookshop, so that when you came out your shopping cart was overflowing with books :))

I’m glad y’all made it home finally. Isn’t Books of Wonder fabulous. I wish it was local to me here in DC, I’d be a book blogger in bed with that store for sure!
