As you can see, my books. my life. is back up. Thank you for your patience while I put it in hiding for a few days. Before I get back into my normal routine, I thought I’d share my new audiobook bookmarking system with you.
I always had a hard time keeping track of my place in audiobooks. I listen to them from my phone so that it’s easy to listen wherever I am (house, car, etc) but I also listen to music on my phone pretty regularly. When I would switch back and forth, I would lose my place. I tried sticky notes, I tried the notes app on the phone, I tried simple memory (that was the biggest failure). Then one day, inspiration struck. I could take a screen shot of my phone that would quickly capture my place down to the second.
This has worked flawlessly so far. It’s so simple that I can’t believe I didn’t think of it ages ago. Genius, right?
How do you bookmark your audiobooks?
PS – iPhone users, you can take a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the home and power buttons.
Awesome! I haven’t listened to any audiobooks on my iPod recently, but I’m glad to know that I can take a screen shot! And your system sounds like a good one π I’ll remember it for the next time I read some audiobooks

Okay, seriously you are my hero right now. I had no idea you could take screen shots on your iPhone. I am always listening to books and getting so frustrated when I lose my place. I try to write it down or put it in notes, but it was kinda a pain. This idea is absolutely genius! Thank you π

I think mine automatically keeps track of where I am. I am so glad that I don’t lose my place. That would be such a pain in the butt.

This is really awesome, Michelle! You are really the hero like Meaghan has said π I didn’t know that you could take a screenshot on iPhone. Does it work on iPods also?

I love you for this. I would have loved you for it even more had you posted about it before I started Outlander on audiobook. π

Can’t you set yours to remember your place within the track? I always tell my audiobooks to do that, and if I get to the wrong track on my iPod, it will be in the right place when I get back to the right one. Of course, you still have to remember what track you are on.

It’s remembering the track I’m on that gives me trouble.

Gotta say my interest is piqued about why you were in hiding π
Great way to bookmark your audio. I listen on my iPod so I don’t have this capability really but maybe one day π
