Remember when I said I would read a ton of books this summer while Ben was away at school? Well, that didn’t quite happen. Somehow, I ended up being busier on my own than I am when he’s here. I went out of town twice, I saw many of my friends, I got the all clear from PT and took up yoga and dance again, and I read ONE more book in July than I usually do. But, I had a fantastic summer and I wouldn’t change a thing, Even for more reading.
So here they are, my the seven books I finished in July (sorry, no fancy collage today – my computer is being held hostage by the Geek Squad for a few weeks and I’m doing everything from web uploads). Perhaps I will review them someday (for the two I did manage to review, click on the hyperlinked title to read)

I always plan to do lots of reading in the summer, but the number of books I actually read in the end is always disappointing. But then, doing other things you love is just as (if not more) important than reading!

I have been reading less lately and I am behind in reviews. I might have reviewed a quarter of what I have read this month. I’m glad to have some company in that department.

I loved Stardust. I was surprised by how much I liked it.

I’m glad! I read it a few years ago and was also surprised by how much I liked it. And that still amazes me. I think it’s very different from the other Gaiman books I’ve read so far, which are much darker.

I have a borrowed copy of Stardust to read at home, but I’ve been putting it off because I’ve seen the movie a few times now so I think I might be over it.
How did you end up liking Rebecca?
I think it can be hard to read a lot in summer because there’s always a lot happening, except for on those days where it’s too hot to go outside and you end up hiding indoors in the airconditioning!

It looks like you had a great reading month, Michelle! Congratulations! So you finally read ‘Stardust’ š I have seen the movie a few times and in addition to the magical story I loved the character of the captain of the flying ship (played by Robert De Niro). Hoping to read the book some day.
