If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I spend my Wednesday and Thursday evenings watching So You Think You Can Dance (and discussing it with many of you). As a nonbookish extra, and in honor of tonight’s finale, I thought I would share my favorite dances from this season with you. These do not include the finale (because they aren’t up yet) which had some awesome dances. They are very contemporary and hip hop heavy – that’s just my taste (although I’m surprised at the lack of jazz). And I’m sure I’m missing some good ones but I can’t include them all. Enjoy.

#1 – Kent and Lauren – contemporary
This is my absolute favorite video from this year. I love both Kent and Lauren. I would like them to get married and have lots of babies. You know, when they’re done dancing. Also, I think my life would be complete if I could dance one of Travis Wall’s pieces. He’s amazing. And it’s Howie Day.

#2 Alex and Twitch – Hip-Hop
Ah Nappytabs, how I love you. And want to be just like you. Also, Alex is a BALLET dancer. Ballet! If only he didn’t get hurt.

Billy might not have lived up to our expectations, but he was pretty amazing in this one. And I love Katee – she was from the first season I watched.

I think the one with Alex and Twitch was my favorite… it was so unexpected and he did soooo awesome! I still think he would have won if he hadn’t gotten hurt… Oh, and I love Mark too! I didn’t care for him that much when it was actually his season, but I’ve really liked him as an all star.
Billy and Ade’s might be my second favorite.

SYTYCD season was SO good! And I was happy whomever won last night since I liked all 3. Here are some of my favorites: Baseball (Kent and Neil), Back stabbing friend (Kent and Neil)–Travis is amazing! Contemporary with Lauren and Kent, the homeless routine (Ade and Billy), Hip Hop with Alex, Robert’s hip hop with Dominic and his contemporary with Alison.
My daughter got to take a dance class with Nappy Tabs, which was SO awesome! And, one with Dominic who is really full of personality

Maybe it’s not fair to comment, because I haven’t been watching SYTYCD this season, but I just wanted to thank you for posting these clips because all of the dances are amazing!!! I think I’ll have to start watching the US version next year again. Canada’s SYTYCD starts this Sunday and I’ll be watching that for sure!

Great choices! Twitch and Alex was my fave, and I loved the creepy clowns — I wanted Robert to win. I just loved watching him dance!
And I agree — LOVE Mark. Not enough Sonya routines this year, I think.

I have watched every season so far and really enjoy this show. My fave was Alex’s hip hop. I really liked the finale. The “Dance Legond” at the end was so great.

I liked the hip hop ones you chose. I’m not a huge contemporary dance fan though. I also enjoyed Robert’s and Billy’s Bollywood routine & Jose and Dominic’s b-boy dance.

My favorite this year is the Every Little Thing She Does is Magic dance. I always love the group dances the best and that one was awesome. I would be really interested to see it danced with Lauren as the centerpiece as I think it was originally intended. Overall, I loved so many of the dances.
