Book Blogger Appreciation Week is here. Expect posts from me this week on the various discussion topics including my interview of Katy from A Few More Pages tomorrow.
Today’s topic:
Monday—First Treasure
We invite you to share with us about a great new book blog you’ve discovered since BBAW last year! If you are new to BBAW or book blogging, share with us the very first book blog you discovered. Tell us why this blog rocks your socks off and why you keep going back for more.
I hope the BBAW organizers don’t mind if I take this one in a little bit of a different direction. Instead of sharing just one book blog, I want to share several. And the reason is that a lot of my original online friends from around the world have (like me) started new book blogs this year (and due to vox.com ‘s recent closing a couple are brand new). While some are more active than others, I like these blogs because of the people behind them who write them and I always look forward to new posts.
In alphabetical order, they are:
- A Bookworm’s Life
- Bookishly Fabulous
- Books and Stuff
- books, the universe, and everything
- Coffee Stained Pages
- If You Can Read This
- KellyVision
- Live through Books
- Mrs. Q: Book Addict
- Vishy’s Blog
- Words and More Words
I hope you check them out if you haven’t before. There are some really great people behind these blogs.
And now I’m off to check out how everyone else answered this question (I’m assuming you all did a much better job of following directions than I did).
PS – I really hope I didn’t forget anyone. Please forgive me if I did.
Great list! books, the universe, and everything really makes me want a cookie now though. 🙂

I’m so glad you mentioned Bina! I felt really bad for choosing Amy over her.

No worries, Iris, I loved your post about Amy’s blog. And I’m too chicken to do a BBAW treasure post, I just cannot decide on one blog! 🙂

Thanks for the mention, Michelle! I so agree with your list (though I think you forgot Vishy’s blog), but it’s so weird that we’re all at wordpress now and Vox is closed.
I love reading your blog, and yay for not following directions 😉

Very cool blog you have here. Referred over from Jenn’s Bookshelves. Thanks for recommending more blogs to check out and I will be sure to stop back again. Have a great day.

Thanks for mentioning my blog! I really love all our new blogs, Vox was very limited. I’ve learned a lot in my almost year of full-time blogging.

Thank you for the shout out! 😀
So crazy that Vox is closing – I’m glad I moved early so I don’t have to scramble now.
One person I can’t find now is M—–l. His Vox is gone, and I’m not sure if he went somewhere else. I hadn’t checked for it in a little while, so not sure how long he’s been off of Vox..

You can find M—–l at http://outgoingsignals.wordpress.com.

I have to admit that I have not heard of many of these. Based on your recommendation, I will be checking them out immediately!

Thanks for the mention! Like Emily, I’m glad that I started my new blog before they shut Vox down so I didn’t have to scramble to get everything moved. I have to admit I am glad that I’ll be able to read their full posts in Google Reader now.

Thanks for the mention! I’m so much happier at WordPress than I was at Vox. 🙂

Thanks for the mention, Michelle! I loved Vox, though I never posted there. I loved commenting on my Vox friends’ blogs and it gave a feeling of a cosy community. I felt very sad when it closed down (I think there are still four more days, but one can’t post now). But I am glad to have made so many friends in Vox and glad to see them around in WordPress now. I love your blog and enjoy reading your posts 🙂
