The Sunday Salon [5.22.11]

The Sunday Salon.com
So it’s Sunday again. While most of you are packing or traveling today for BEA, I am sitting here extremely jealous enjoying a normal weekend. I had a lovely time in Vegas last weekend, I am going to St. Louis (for approximately 45 hours) next weekend to see my friend, and the I am going to Europe for a month, so no real complaining from me about not going to BEA this year. But I definitely will miss you all.

Speaking of, I will be participating in Armchair BEA this week. So you probably won’t see reviews, but you will get posts. Yay blogging community!

This week I finished The Ninth Wife by Amy Stolls, Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, The Convert by Deborah Baker, and the Bossypants audiobook. It looks like a fantastic week, but really it is just the result of me reading a bazillion books at once and some of them finishing at the same time. I am curently reading Shift by Jeri Smith-Ready and I am so, so, so, so happy about it.

And finally, I need to pick winners for the Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott giveaway. Using random.org, the two copies (provided directly by the publisher) are going to:

Heather at Book Addiction

and

Teresa at Teresa’s Reading Corner

Congratulations. I will be emailing both of you shortly. And if anyone is curious, Laurie and Jo beat out Laurie and Amy by a landslide.

Enjoy your Sunday and have fun at BEA or Armchair BEA!

    Awesome, thank you!

I’m not going to BEA either… but I have to admit that I’m very jealous about your Europe trip! One day, I will get there myself… Enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

I loved The Ninth Wife and hope that you did too! It was such a great read for me, and not at all what I had been expecting. I also won’t be attending BEA, but hope that I will be able to attend next year! Happy Armchair BEA!

I’m not heading to NYC either and I’m not even doing Armchair BEA. I just get completely overwhelmed by it all. If I weren’t working I’d join in, but between work and my regular reading/posting schedule I just can’t fit anything else in.
