Top Ten Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me [Top Ten Tuesday]

I felt like jumping back into Top Ten Tuesday this week: The top ten books I feel as though everyone has read but me. They are not necessarily books I plan on reading (though most are). Enjoy.

The Phantom Tollbooth

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Lord of the Rings

Every Stephen King novel

Anne of Green Gables

The Little House on the Prairie

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius

Brave New World

The Road

City of Bones

And now I will wait for the obligatory “You HAVE to read this NOW” and “Oh, I haven’t read that either and I though I was the only one” comments.

Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme hosted by the fabulous The Broke and the Bookish.

Great list. I’ve read Anna of Green Gables many times. City of bones I didn’t like that much, but I read it just after Mockingjay. Some of these I haven’t heard of before.

    OMG read it!
On my TBR, dying to get to it!
Eh, gave up halfway through the trilogy because I didn’t care (but love the movies).
Can’t remember whether I’ve read this or only seen the movie. Maybe? Some of his are quite good, though.
    OMG!
    OMG!
Abandoned it after 15 pages and have no regrets.
    Pretty good, classic dystopia!
Haven’t read it, don’t care to.

I have not read any of those and I am a prolific reader! Throughly ashamed of myself now ha ha

Other than the Little House books, I haven’t read a single one of those.

I loved the Anne of Green Gables and Little House on the Prairie series when I was younger. I still reread them on occasion 🙂

I have only read one of these, so don’t feel bad! I have plans to read them all though!

LOL – here I am thinking “now, Little House is a really quick read – there’s just no excuse, girl”, when I realize that that’s the ONLY one on this list I can remember reading…3 fingers pointing back at me. 😉

Fun post – thanks for sharing.

Haha, now I can’t leave one of those comments, since you anticipated them…

I can say that I have never read The Shining and I have no desire to. In fact, I’m skeptical on Stephen King in general. I don’t do scary or creepy well, and in my mind, he’s both of those things.

I have only read one of those books – Little House. This is a good topic. I might have to steal that and come up with my own list. I’d only need one more in addition to yours. LOL!

I love your new look! The polka dots and the dates are really nice. I like the colors. So soothing!

PT – Read it, don’t remember it
EL & EC – Never read
LOTR – Excellent but not for everyone
TS – Want to read it but scared to
AOGG – Seriously? I am in shock here that this is on the list.
LHOTP – Michelle! I am beginning to think you had a deprived childhood. 🙂
AHWOSG – Never read, don’t have a clue what it’s about.
    BNW – Excellent read
TR – Scary as hell but phenomenal
COB – Not my favorite of the trilogy.

Does it count that I have the Cassie Clare series on audio? It’s queued through on my ipod several times but I’ve not had the opportunity to listen to it through. I do hope to get to it though!
