The Sunday Salon [10.30.11]

The Sunday Salon.com

Happy Sunday once again. I hope you all are having a lovely weekend doing whatever Halloween activities you crazy kids do (for me that means – at most – eating some candy since I don’t really get the appeal of Halloween like so many others).

I’m still in a bit of a blogging/reading funk. But I’m not too worried. It’ll be back eventually. I hope you all can bear with me.

The only book I finished this week was my audio reread of The End of the Affair. I’m still working on The Radleys (which I promise I’m enjoying even if it’s taking me awhile) and I started listening to Fallen by Lauren Kate (I felt like I needed soem YA after Graham Greene).

What are you up to today? Any fall activities? Or good books?

Ah, The End of the Affair, the tiny book that took forever for me to read. I think I would have been better served to listen to it. I have no idea how I’m going to review that one. All that dourness and God and stuff. It is a beautiful day in Florida today…enjoy.

For some reason, I am having a slump too. It seems that even if I am liking something, I am having a hard time committing and finishing it. I did get through Warm Bodies and hope to have a review up tomorrow, but I did abandon another read for it, and now have to go back and pick it up again, and I am not too crazy about that. I also agree with Sandy. It’s a very nice day today outside!

I stopped understanding the appeal of Halloween shortly after I became too old to Trick or Treat without getting funny looks. Sorry to hear about your funk. I’m doing all right with reading, but my review-writing funk lingers on. Hope we’re both totally de-funked soon!
