The Sunday Salon [4.15.12]

The Sunday Salon.com

Not much new to report here, but I feel like it’s been awhile since I just chatted about how life is progressing.

HOUSE

We are set to – finally – move two weeks from today. Although I am still hesitant from the experience with the last house, we’ve made it through the inspection, pest inspection, and appraisal, and only await the final paperwork before we close so I think we’re really moving this time. Our apartment is a disaster as we pack and purge (and deal with incoming baby items) so I can’t wait to organize in the new place. My dad is coming down to help me get the nursery ready after we move (so sit tight, little guy, you need to wait a little while longer still).

BABY

I’m feeling pretty good still. Tired and achy and still not sure why all of these other women “love being pregnant,” but I really do feel lucky for how well the baby seems to be doing. After some concern that he wasn’t growing enough, it turns out he’s in the 58th percentile for weight which sounds just about perfect to me. I also had the opportunity to get a free 4D (what IS the 4th dimension?) ultrasound and saw just how cute the little guy really is. Should I share?

 33 Weeks

Isn’t technology fascinating?

READING

On the reading front, I have even less to report. Still making my way through audiobooks; still trudging through my print books at a snail’s pace. But, hey, I’m still reading more than most Americans. Today I hope to finish Candide, then I’m going to try a nonfiction/YA combination to fight the short attention span.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend and the lovely spring weather the whole country seems to be having.

Sweet little baby!! We had a 4D sono and it was so amazing to watch the little bug moving around.

Good luck with the packing! Let those boys do all the work for you. 😉

You don’t really want to be pushing out a baby that is in the 98th percentile, so yeah that sounds pretty good! I am amazed at the technology nowadays. I never had any of that, and had to be happy with a silhouette of a head and some fingers.

Back in the “olden days”, we didn’t even have ultrasounds. I can’t even imagine how thrilled I would have been to have gotten a picture like this of my daughter.

All the best with delivering this wee sweetheart.

I am so happy house plans are moving along. Sounds good. That 4 D image is wild. I agree with Sandy, who wants to deliver a baby who is at the higher end of the scale. Life sounds good

That ultrasound is amazing! I’l confess that I don’t know what the 4th D is…sound? Maybe he was supposed to talk to you? That is so cool to be able to see what he really looks like!

They came out with this technology right after I had my daughter. My US was pretty good, but this is AMAZING! You can see everything! I hate how scrunched up they always are. My kid was spread out and caused me all sorts of problems. LOL.

    Good luck with everything!
