The Sunday Salon [6.10.12]

The Sunday Salon.com

I have discovered the secret to reading. Stop being pregnant. Listen to audiobooks while nursing. Bam. I’ve already read more books in the first 10 days of June than I did all of May.

Evan and I are doing great. It’s a little overwhelming sometimes – being in charge of feeding a tiny little person every 2 hours – but we’re managing pretty well (thank you to everyone who has been supportive on twitter when I get frustrated). Of course my mom just left, so now we have one less adult in the house to help out. But Ben is on summer vacation starting Monday afternoon and the three of us are going to have a nice, peaceful summer at home.Β A year ago today, I was roaming around Greece on the start of my big European Adventure. Now I’m looking forward to a summer home with the boys. Life sure is interesting.

Evan – 2 weeks old

You go, you awesome mom! When my little piggy got sick and I had to hand feed him four to five times a day, I blew through some serious audios. It is all about multi-tasking. I love that little grin he has on his face. You are going to have a fabulous summer!

The first few months are so tiring, but I thought it got better after the first 4 months. πŸ™‚

It’s great that you are finding a way to read through all of the feeding and baby-tending

Sounds like you’re doing well and I hope you survive the first few months. Evan is looking even more adorable if that’s possible πŸ™‚

Oh that picture is just too sweet! Happy two weeks to little Evan. πŸ™‚ That is a great idea about listening to books on audio while nursing. I really wish I would have thought about that, LOL! I just watched a lot of TV. (Probably not really a great idea, haha).

I read your tweets with empathy dear, those first few weeks are the most tiring. Enjoy this time with your new little family.
I’m finding a lot more time when I listen to audio. Cleaning and listening is a good thing!

Babies always look so wise at this age. Doesn’t he?

Also, I had a heck of a time nursing with my daughter but ended up being a pro and almost became a lactation consultant afterward. If you need any support, let me know.

Audiobooks while nursing. Who knew? But heck yeah, that’s an awesome way to kick back some pages.
