TSS: Read My Own Books Wrap-Up

I never did an official Reading My Own Books wrap-up, so here you go.

Reading My Own Books was both a success and a failure.

It was a success because I did manage to read only my own print books.

It was a failure because I only managed to read three.

That’s right. Three books in three months. After record reading during maternity leave (lots of nursing and napping baby time), my reading is really taking a backseat to my new working mom role.

But I still read three more of my own books than I probably would have otherwise. So, I’m calling it a success.

If you participated in my unofficial challenge in any way, how did you do?

I’m shamed to admit I only read 2 of my own books, I was once again lured by shiny new books. I’ve been reading at a fairly nice pace since 2013 began. I’m going to try to fit in one or two older ones from my shelf a month. Have a wonderful week

I am reading more of my own books, but my ratio is still 50/50. I think I read or listened to my own books a lot, but also bought the newest and greatest thing when I felt compelled…and I felt compelled A LOT.

I’ll try to write a post (ha!) but I did really well! I read 7 of my own books (1 of which I purchased during the time-period, but whatever, I still owned it lol). I really liked this challenge because it forced me to read books I had been putting off forever, but when it was over I splurged at the library and brought home about 8 books at once. 🙂

Thanks for hosting this. I’m lame and haven’t blogged for a while, but I ended up reading 12 of my own. Most were short YA that I could read in a couple of hours at night and I had some international flights with 10+ hours of flight time so I got lots of reading done.

I could have written this: “After record reading during maternity leave (lots of nursing and napping baby time), my reading is really taking a backseat to my new working mom role.” Sucks, doesn’t it?
