My Thoughts:

I am way behind on this one guys. I know. But I finally read it, so give me a little credit. While I was intrigued from the beginning, City of Bones took a little bit of time to really suck me in. But by the end, I was flying through the pages desperate to know what happened.

Not much to say, since you all have read this already. The world is complex, the characters have depth, and the plot never stalls. I liked Clary and Simon (poor Simon), but Jace is such an interesting character. I read somewhere that this started as Harry Potter fanfiction and Jace is based on Draco Malfoy. I can totally see that.

I am on to Book 2 soon. I swear.

This is one of those books that I can’t believe I haven’t read. I own the first two and yet…still nothing. I love her other series and really have no reason why I haven’t picked these up. Maybe I should try the audio?

I started with this one on paper, but left it for audio. I ordered the book from the library, and haven’t yet started listening, but I am going to soon, with the movie coming out soon. I’m glad that you mention that the book picks up. I was finding it a bit slow in the beginning.

I remember not being all that impressed with the first book but was willing to give the second book a chance. It was the second book in the series that sucked me in completely and I flew through the next two after that. I’ve stalled since then but cannot wait to get back into this series this year. I’m glad you enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what you think of the second book!
