The Sunday Salon [2.26.12]

I am still not reading. And I am almost out of books to review. So I really must start reading books again for the sake of the blog. Unless you want me to tell you about the various cribs and strollers out there. Because I have been reading a lot about that. As far as I can tell, I have a little over a week left of this busier-than-normal work life, so maybe I will start reading again soon. Then again, the end of this phase coincides with the beginning of my birthday celebrations and a visit from my mom. So maybe not.

At least I am being productive in the rest of my life (when not on Pinterest – my latest obsession – at least). We are still jumping through all of the necessary hoops on this home-buying thing and we’ve begun both packing and purging our stuff. The books fell victim to our unforgiving sorting yesterday. Ben’s guess is that we’ve got about 200 books to give away (and I found someone who will take them all). We have a bit less space for our books in the new house so it was necessary. And we’ve started packing up the rest with the hope that starting now will make moving when I am 35-weeks pregnant a bit less stressful. Plus, it’s not like I’m reading them or anything.

I am off to go make this now. See, Pinterest is productive…

You’re still listening to audio though, right? Make sure you’re listening while purging things, that should help a bit at least.

Still listening but just in the car. While purging, we usually have music on since we’re together. Plus I’ve lost all of my running audio time, so I’m probably still listening slower than pre-pregnancy.

You do seem to have a lot going on over there, despite the reading issues! It’s totally ok if you aren’t reading! You can post about possible baby names and music and other stuff that occupies your mind! I surely wouldn’t mind reading it!

Go buy some of your favorite children’s books and read them out loud at night to baby. We don’t even have a baby yet, but I’ve already stocked the house with some of my old favorites for the someday children. I can’t wait to share The House with the Clocks in it’s Walls, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my future rug rats. Maybe it’ll help with the slump to read something easy and memorable.

Plus, I want to come to your house for breakfast! 🙂

You’ll receive no judgement from me. I’ve moved while I was pregnant and still working, and the only things I was reading were baby manuals and stuff. This is a stage in life that you will never forget, and is very special, so enjoy it and don’t worry about us. When you are ready to read, you’ll know it!

You should write about whatever is going on in your life that you want to write about! 🙂 I’m sure you could make a comparative post about strollers interesting.
