Current/most recent audiobook:
Sadly, I am currently listening to the Florida Bar’s 13th Labor & Employment Law Annual Update and Certification Review. How I wish I were kidding. I am desperately wishing for these EIGHTEEN AND A HALF HOURS to be over so I can get back to audiobooks.
So for the purposes of this meme, we’ll go with my last read: The Mapping of Love and Death by Jacqueline Winspear (read by Orlagh Cassidy).
Impressions:
This is the 7th Maisie Dobbs book and I think it’s one of my favorites. The mystery was fine, but it was the personal developments in Maisie’s life that got me. I feel like she is a dear friend. And there were tears during this one.
Current/most recent favorite audiobook:
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. I just can’t stop thinking about it. Read my review here.
Favorite narrator you’ve discovered recently:
Fenella Woolgar. Life After Life wasn’t short and I really enjoyed Woolgar’s narration.
One title from your TBL (to be listened) stack, or your audio wishlist:
I just downloaded The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (narrated by Will Patton). It’s free through today on SYNC and I’ve been meaning to read it for awhile.

I’m on the library hold list for Life After Life (have been there for ages, it seems), but think I should consider audio instead…

It’s a long book – I handle those better on audio. 🙂

Oh I need to go snag The Raven Boys from Sync. I’ve been meaning to listen to that one for a while.
Thanks to one of your earlier posts I have Maisie Dobbs on my radar now, definitely going to try and listen to the first book in that series soon.

I tried the first 15 minutes of The Raven Boys and I think I’m going to switch to print. Will Patton is not the narrator for me. 😦
There are three narrators for the first three Maisie books but they are all great and then it gets consistent.

I’ve listened to Orlagh Cassidy before and really enjoyed her narration. It gives me added incentive to want to listen to Winspear’s books which I’ve been meaning to read.

She doesn’t narrate the first two, but those narrators are great also.

Those CLE’s are never fun! Here’s hoping you can breeze through them. I love Orlagh Cassidy. I haven’t listened to any of her work for awhile. I’ve listened to a ton of Xe Sands lately.

I stopped reading Maisie Dobbs after the first one, due to a bad only-starting-series habit – but maybe I should get back to it. Raven Boys was one of my very favorite audiobooks last year – I hope you love it!

I’m bad about series as well. This is one of the few I am getting through.

Thank you for reminding me about SYNC and Raven Boys–I need to listen to that one for work, so the audio will be perfect!

My husband did one of his CLE’s on audio last year or the year before. At least it is a bit better than a long class. I got The Raven Boys from Sync too 🙂

I almost like the classes better.

You might try listening a bit further. I was really skeptical about Will Patton until the narration switched viewpoints, and then he won me over.
