I finished Life of Pi last night. I thought it was great. It was so interesting to see the relationship between Pi and Richard Parker. My favorite part was when he was on the killer island with the meerkats. I don’t understand why he couldn’t stay there and just sleep in the trees with the meerkats. But I guess it was good that he left because otherwise he wouldn’t have reached Mexico.
I think Martel was very good at making us empathize with Pi. I felt what he felt. I was scared of Richard Parker, I was lonely when thinking of his family, I was sad when Richard Parker left so unceremoniously.
I thought that this book would get boring, but it really didn’t. It was interesting the whole time. This was my first book club book and I enjoyed reading it and discussing it with others. Aside from discussing books with Ben, I haven’t done that in years.
Now I can focus on A Great and Terrible Beauty. I finished one exam, so I only have two left. A week from today I will be done and have all the time in the world to read!
