There wasn’t much going on this weekend, so I’ve been reading. I finished both Something Rotten and Coraline and enjoyed both.
I had a hard time getting into this one. Possibly because it takes place in the real world and I enjoy the book world more. But I did like it. I especially like the little twist at the end. This book didn’t have as much of the humor that the other books had. For example, in one book they talk about dangling modifiers in a paragraph full of dangling modifiers. That’s one of my favorite things about the Thursday Next books and I missed it.
I think I’ll give myself a bit of a break before reading First Among Sequels.
I picked up Coraline from the library on Friday and couldn’t wait to read it. I think the movie looks amazing. And me being me, I couldn’t go see it without reading the book first. This was my first Neil Gaiman book. I thought it was great. It’s the kind of book I would have loved when I was a kid and still can appreciate now. It was a unique story that kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend it.
