Because sometimes I let television invade the book blog.
Fall is my favorite season (or was until I moved to the autumn-less Sunshine State). Football, cider, crisp air, baseball playoffs, and…TELEVISION! I am looking forward to the return of my regular shows, and I am currently trying to figure out which new shows should make the cut. This is what’s on my radar:
- Ringer – (Tuesdays at 9 on The CW): The return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to The CW. I am there.
- The New Girl (Tuesdays at 9 on Fox): I have a girl crush on Zooey Deschanel
- The Secret Circle (Thursdays at 9 on The CW): Hoping it matches the awesomeness of The Vampire Diaries.
- Pan-Am (Sundays at 10 on NBC): Looks Mad Men-esque.
- Up All Night (Wednesday at 8 on NBC): There are some funny people here.
- Alcatraz (Monday at 9 on Fox): Because it’s Hurley and JJ Abrams.
- Apartment 23 (Midseason on ABC): I hear James van der Beek plays an exaggerate version of himself. Clearly I am watching this.
Any of these on your must-see list? Anything I missed?
I seem to have a knack for picking shows that get cancelled before the season is over, and have done so at least 3 years in a row. It makes me a lot less encouraged about new shows coming out, because I hate getting invested and then having to give them up. I don’t have any shows on my radar right now. I will probably just be reading.

I should probably be reading too…

I LOVE new TV season! I am looking forward to Alcatraz (yay Lost people!), Person of Interest ( because Ben is in it), The New Girl, Two Broke Girls, and I am hoping Ringer is good (since my favorite actor from Veronica Mars will be on it too!)
You are missing the show I am looking forward to the most though – Once Upon a Time. Some of the writers from Lost are on it and I guess there are three or four Lost references in the first episode (small ones). It is also about a place where fairy tales are real…so that alone makes me excited!

Once Upon a Time sounds great. 🙂

I am also looking forward to Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson. I have a girl crush on her too. And how bad could the show be when it’s from the creators of the O.C.? The answer is terrible but awesome!

That one *almost* made the list. I do love Rachel Bilson. Maybe I will wait for your reaction before committing to it. 🙂

I’m excited for The New Girl too. I love Zooey Deschanel as well. One of my favorite movies is Elf and I love her and Will Ferrell in that! I want to watch Pan Am also. I’m also looking forward to Once Upon a Time.

Elf is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I generally put it on when decorating. 🙂
I think I need to look into Once Upon a Time.

After seeing your tweets about Ringer I immediately looked it up. Hopefully it will be available on Hulu. I’m terrible about new shows and usually watch them later when people tell me they are good.

There’s a show called Whitney coming out that I think looks absolutely hysterical. I hope I like it… and if I like it, I hope it lasts. I always seem to love shows that get cancelled after one or two seasons (sometimes even less than that).

We have a lot of the same picks! I’m pretty excited for this season’s new shows over all. It will be interesting to see which ones stick around for awhile too.

I am so out of the TV loop – I haven’t heard of any of these shows! Wait, that’s not true, I’ve heard of Pan-Am, which looks awesome. I think I’ll also have to check out The New Girl and Apartment 23.

How did I miss Alcatraz? I love me some JJ Abrams and a Lostie? Sign me up! Totally on board with this one for sure. I’m not much of a sitcom girl but I’m definitely giving New Girl a shot because I love Zoey Deschenal. Looks like we’ll be chatting it up on Twitter about some of the awesome shows we both have on our schedules. 🙂
