What I *HAVE* Been Reading (psst…you probably want to see this one)

On Tuesday I shared the books I would be reading if I still read books. Obviously I’m exaggerating a bit when I say I’m not reading at all. In fact, I’m in the middle of a bunch of books, including these ones:

I am so excited that I am far enough along that I can finally share my news with you. Baby Appleseed (so nicknamed for it’s size when we found out) is slated to make his/her appearance sometime around May 28. Ben and I are beyond thrilled (and a bit terrified).

Did I surprise you? Or have all of my tweets about being exhausted given me away? (at least two people figured it out on twitter despite my best efforts to hide it from you)

As for me, I was feeling pretty awful there for a few weeks but that appears to be nearing its end (which is good since I was growing desperately tired of ginger ale and saltines as a “meal”). Now I am just waiting to get my energy back so I can stop sleeping 10 hours a night and hopefully my reading/blogging mojo will come back with it. Who knew growing a baby was such hard work?

So…any advice for me? Any books I need to add to that pile?

Well, there was a lot of discussion of ginger ale…

Congratulations! I’m very happy for you. And I’m clueless on books. The only child in my life came to me at age 3. It was very convenient.

But that ginger ale was for Jen. 😉

After feeling miserable for 3 weeks straight, I’m thinking you might have done it the better way. 😛

OMG, awesome news! I remember the exhaustion of that first trimester and was so glad when it went away. Reading will come back to you as well, until the baby is born! 🙂 I hope you are feeling better, eating more than saltines, and getting excited about your upcoming event!

Oh. My. God! That is so totally awesome. I saw that you were tired, but I am clueless. I am tired all the time too but I’m not having a baby. You will get more advice than you really want over the months and years. The only thing I’d say is to enjoy the ride. I’m finding that I blinked and now my babies are teenagers, and I will blink again and they will be gone. So so happy for the two of you.

CONGRATS!!! Second trimester is the best–though I have to warn you that I threw up more the day I had the babe than my entire pregnancy. 😉

So glad that you’re feeling better. And I love talking pregnancy/baby stuff, so feel free to twitter-bug me anytime.

    Yay for you and Ben!

Yay! I really loved Your Best Birth, as well as the documentary that preceded it- The Business of Being Born. I also really liked The Thinking Woman’s Guide to a Better Birth. Snobby title, but it was honestly the most helpful book to me.

Congrats again! The only pregnancy book I’ve liked is the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy, but I’m fond of a more clinical approach to the subject so anything “girlfriendish” is not for me.
